Our values, Our ethics, Our people.

We are a Family Business with over 77 years’ experience: Established in 1946, we remain a family-owned business today, with the fourth generation on board. We operate and conduct our business in an ethical and transparent way.

Managing services for and on behalf of clients: Ideal’s over-riding approach is to ensure we make every effort to manage the required services for and on behalf of its clients, providing value for money, added value and improved services. Ideals senior management are always actively involved in the set up and on-going development of the service. Our structured contract management and supervision, strong family values, well trained and motivated staff, quality goals and customer partnership approach have ensured that customer’s needs and expectations are exceeded.

A Focus on our People and individual performance: Ideal’s objective is to deliver a quality and constantly improving service and it achieves this by a strong focus on those people that will actually deliver the cleaning service to the client’s premises, the Cleaning Operatives. Ideal promotes the idea of the ‘ownership’ of individual roles and believes that everyone shares the responsibility to provide an excellent standard of service. We support our staff through the provision of training, information and clear and open lines of communication and by ensuring they have the right equipment and technical support to fulfil their roles.

Improving through feedback and communication

It’s crucial for us to listen to both our customers and our staff in order to continually improve our services. Through regular meetings with customers and our staff on all levels we have gained valuable feedback and ideas.

Over the years, we’ve received valuable feedback from our customers, who have expressed a desire for improved auditing tools. To address this, we’ve implemented a digital audit sheet, allowing for immediate access to copies and easy storage on their computers, complete with accompanying images.

Our staff and customers were also enquiring how we can minimise risks for lone working operatives. In response, we’ve developed a solution that includes SOS messages at the touch of a button, automatic alerts to management if an operative has not signed out at the expected time, this accompanied by our site specific risk assessment and training ensures their safety is prioritised.

Management have also requested better tools for monitoring staff attendance. To meet this need, we’ve introduced an app that has a time and attendance function, integrates digital audits, lone worker safety features, enabling senior managers to oversee multiple sites remotely.

We will continue to review our equipment, machinery and cleaning products to further enhance our operations and offerings. This will help us deliver the best possible service to our customers and support our employees.

Our aims is to continue to be a responsible business that meets the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.

  • Business Ethics: We always conduct business with integrity and respect to human rights.
  • Protecting the environment: We recognise the need to protect the natural environment. Keeping our environment clean and unpolluted is a benefit to all.
  • Protecting People: We ensure that the health and safety of the employees and others in the community are at the forefront of what we do and this is supported by our accreditation to ISO 45001.
  • Human Rights: We are dedicated to protecting human rights. We are a committed equal opportunity employer and will incorporate all fair labour practices. We ensure that we fully meet as a minimum the requirements of the National Living Wage.
  • By listening to our clients, we can learn and gain a better understanding how we might improve our service to suit their needs. This allows us to create strong relationships with current and future clients as well as build a resilient working community to support each other in whatever way possible.

Wellbeing

We take great pleasure in sharing our commitment to adopting a supportive and inclusive work environment at Ideal Services Group. This last year has seen a significant increase in focus on the well-being and development of teams members making it a real priority. With additional resources put into training and team building which helps promote happier work environments across the country.

A joyful work environment is fundamental for the growth and productivity of our organisation and employees. We have implemented various initiatives to ensure that our workspace is one where every employee feels valued, heard and happy, promoting both personal and professional well-being. To further this, we have introduced a suggestion box onto the website giving employees a safe place to voice their opinion.

As a family company, we understand relationships transcend formal professional boundaries. We continue to build and maintain our ‘Ideal Family,’ ensuring that even those who have retired are not forgotten and still feel part of our community. We warmly invite former employees and business partners to various events to celebrate the contributions and memories shared from their time with the business.

Our Wellbeing Goals

We will continue to support our employees by:

  • Providing a happy work environment for all to enjoy
  • Resolving conflicts and problems employees experience in a timely manner
  • Encourage staff to participate in employee team-building exercises.
  • Continuing to build the ideal family to invite even those who are no longer part of the company to events as they may have left the company but still part of the wider Ideal family.

Thanks to our committed staff and would like to thank all those who are part of the charity for all their hard work behind the scenes. To find out more about them, visit their website.

It has been a team effort and we would like to give with special thanks to our employees and partners whose hard work and dedication has meant that we have been able to raise over £7,000 for a range of charities over the last few years. We have also already started working towards next year’s target by re-joining the NUH Charity business club.
